  • Does -bayesmh- accept evaluators that are programmed directly by Mata?

    Hi all,

I would like to ask whether -bayesmh- accepts evaluators that are programmed directly by Mata.
I know that the Stata command -ml- accepts both Stata evaluators (e.g. program...) and Mata evaluators (e.g. void...), and using a Mata evaluator speeds up -ml- a lot. Therefore, I wonder whether it is also possible to speed up -bayesmh- by using mata to programme evaluators.

I am aware that the Stata bayesian analysis reference manual (page 159) did mention some examples that programmed evaluators 'partly' in Mata for -bayesmh-, but my question here are (1) whether we can programme the evaluators entirely using Mata, and (2) if it is possible to do that, could any provide me an simple example of programming.

    Thank you very much.
