  • Using user-written hlm command with Stata 12 and HLM 7

    Hi,
I'm trying to use the -hlm- command (by Sean Reardon) to run HLM through Stata. I have Stata 12 and HLM 7. I keep getting the following error:
    file HLM3MDM.STS not found
When I look in the destination folder. the mdmt file is there but has no data. the _mdmvars .dta file is also here, but also with no data. Per an earlier lost on the old statalist, I changed a couple of the .ado files to -saveold- rather than -save-, but, alas, the same issue persists. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

The saveold might not be saving old enough. Perhaps you need saveto9 or something like it: http://www.radyakin.org/transfer/saveto9/cs/index.htm

Also, Reardon's program was written for hlm 6. I don't know if it works with hlm 7 or not.
