Hello,
I want to estimate how long a president stays in office for several countries. To do that I use a discrete time duration model with semi-parametric baseline hazard function and I have a question about country fixed effects in this setting.
I read a few article explaining the problems with fixed effects in duration models but these are always about individual fixed effects or frailty. In my setting or at this stage individual specific frailty is not the important issue for me, I would like to know if it is okay to include country fixed effects in my model or
if that can create any problems?
Thanks,
Michael
