Would appreciate some help as I am currently stuck with analyzing interval censored data. I have tried using the stpm function in stata as the package states that it can fit spline-based distributional models to right- or interval-censored data. However, what I am unsure of is how it accounts for the interval-censored data by the fitting of splines. I have read the paper by Royston and Parmar (2001), however, in the paper, it only states that option for interval censoring data which is straight forward to implement in the parametric framework have bee included in the stpm package.
Does anyone has a better understanding of how the spline-based model accounts for interval censored data please? Thanks!
