  • Evolution of the global corporate labor share

I'm trying to replicate the results from the paper "The Global Decline of the Labor Share" by Karabarbounis and Neiman (2013) http://faculty.chicagobooth.edu/bren...esearch/KN.pdf

To start with, how do I regress the corporate labor share on country an year fixed effects? How do I then plott the evolution of the global and corporate labor share by the year fixed effects as in figure 1 of the paper?

    Thanks for all the help!

    Knut:
    welcome to the list.
As far as your first queatin is concerned, at a very first glance authors perform an OLS, despite they seemingly dealth with a panel dataset.
    Hence:
    Code:
    regress corporate_labor_share i.country i.year <othercontrols<, cluster(country)
might be what you're looking for.

See -help graph_twoway- to replicate Figure 1 of the paper.
    Kind regards,
    Carlo

      Hi

      Using Stata/SE 14.2 for Mac.

I am reproducing the results from the paper The Decline in the Global Labor Share by Karabarbounis and Neiman.

Q1: As one can see from my do-file I don't get the exact results as figure 1 in the paper. Some suggestions about how I can plot the evolution in the global corporate labor share from a least-squares reg of corporate labor share on country and year fixed effects?

Q2: Some thoughts of how I can plot the linear trends for all 59 countries with data for at least 15 years as in figure 3 in the paper? The coef would be the lfited lines from figure 2 just scaled to percentage points per 10 years.

Thanks for all help and comments.
